On their first day in the town of Barovia. Korinn, Wisp, and. Barakai went to investigate the Vistani fortune teller Madam Eva, camped near Tser Falls. This old withered Vistani offered to tell the heroes their fortune and warned them it would be critical if they wished to defeat evil.

Madam Eva bade the characters cut the cards so as to enertwine their fortunes with in. She delt three cards for the low deck and two from the high deck.

Then flipping the cards one by one she spoke:

This card tells of history. Knowledge of the ancient will help you better understand your enemy. The master of coins, the Rogue. I see a nest of ravens. There you find the prize.

This card tells of a powerful force for good and protection, a holy symbol of great hope. The three of glyphs, the Healer. Look to the west. Find a pool blessed by the light of the white sun.

This is a card of power and strength. It tells of a weapon of vengeance s: a sword of sunlight. The seven of coins, the Thief. What you seek lies at the crossroads of life and death, amount the buried dead

This card sheads light on one who will help you greatly in the battle against darkness. What horror is this? The Marionette! I see a man made by a man. Ageless and alone, it haunts the towers of the castle.

Your enemy is a creature of dreariness, whose powers are beyond mortality. This card will lead you to him! Oh what fate! The Mists! The cards can’t see where the evil lurks. The mists obscure all!

Madam Eva tells the heros to return after three days to consult the cards once again to discern the location of their enemy.
